However there are 2 very important variations of this question

1) Do you have an automatic driving licence?

If the answer to this is yes, then you are permitted to take your ADI Part 2 and ADI part 3 in an automatic car

However If you only have an automatic licence, you must take the test in an automatic car. You’ll only be able to train people in an automatic car when you’ve qualified.

2) Do you have a manual driving licence?

If the answer to this is yes, then you can do ADI Part 2 and ADI Part 3 in an automatic car

If you have a manual licence, you can take the test in either a manual or automatic car. You’ll be able to train people in both types of car when you’ve qualified.
